Bass Guitar

The bass guitar(also called electric bass,or simply bass) is a stringed instrument played primarily with the fingers or thumb, by plucking, slapping, popping, tapping, thumping, or picking with a plectrum(often known as a pick).Since the 1960s, the bass guitar has largely replaced the double bass as the bass instrument in the rhythm section. Bass guitars can play many styles of music, including rock, metal, pop, punk rock, country, blues, and jazz. It is often a soloing instrument in jazz, funk, and some rock and metal styles.

A bass player may rest the thumb on the top edge of one of the pickups or on the side of the fret-board. The thumb can also be rested loosely on the strings to mute the unused strings.

Most bass players stand while playing, although sitting is also accepted, particularly in large ensemble settings, such as jazz big bands. Some bassists switch position between standing or seated playing. It is a matter of the player's preference as to which position gives the greatest ease of playing and what a bandleader expects.

Bass guitar is similar in appearance and construction to an electric guitar, but they are not the same. Bass guitars usually have four or five strings with longer and thinner neck, and electric guitars have six strings.  Just same as the electric guitar, bass guitar is plugged into an amplifier for live performances. In music, electric and bass guitar are being responsible for different parts. Electric guitars usually responsible for mid-range and treble parts, and bass guitars usually responsible for the bass part, that's why it called bass guitar.

I wasn't really interested about bass guitar so I can't really recommend my own favourite bass guitar music, but I found a pretty good bass solo on YouTube, hope you guys would like it! ·w·

Electronic Guitar

Electric guitars may have a hollow body and in many different shapes and styles. Most of them have steel strings. They require an amplifier with speakers for the sound to be heard. Electric guitars usually have a strap button on the bottom and on the left side of the body as well. They usually have both a volume and a tone control and may also have other controls as well as two or more pickups that can be selected individually or together for a variety of sound options. Many accessories are available for the electric guitar providing a wide range of effects.

There is no reason a beginner can’t start on an electric guitar. Playing the electric guitar can be very motivating for the student whose goal is to play rock or popular music. If they start on the classical guitar, they may not be getting the sound that they expected.

The strings on an electric guitar are closer to the fret board making it a little easier on the fingers than a classical guitar.
Also if the student uses an amplifier that has a headphone, they can practice without disturbing others. This can be a huge advantage in a small home and could result in the student practicing more frequently since there is no embarrassment to others hearing the beginner's mistakes.

But the disadvantage of electric guitar is the electric guitars and the required amplifiers are a bit more expensive than beginner classical guitars.
An amplifier is required, making the guitar less portable.
And if the student prefers the acoustic style and sound, the electric guitar will not create the fit sound, so the beginners might not meet their expectations, and may result in discontinuing playing.

Classical Guitar

Classical guitar is the big member of guitar family. All the classical guitars have nylon strings, with wider necks that allow the strings to be farther apart to finger picking. Individual strings plucked with the fingernails or fingertips is the common instrumental finger technique to classic guitar. If you want to get tremolo, fluent, and rapid effects, you must practice alternation, never plucking a string with the same finger twice in a row.  Classic guitars usually don’t have a strap button on the bottom, and some of them have decorative artwork around the sound hole. Classic guitars are traditionally used to play classical and folk music, because they have a mellow sound. Since the neck is not reinforced to hold the stronger pull of the steel strings, note that it is not recommend putting steel strings onto a classical guitar.

If you are a beginner of learning classic guitar, nylon strings are easier for the fingers because nylon strings won’t hurt your fingers, so you may be more willing to practice and continue lessons.
And classical guitar doesn't have amplifier, which makes the guitar more portable.

But the problem is, the neck of the guitar is wider, so the beginners with small hands may have difficulty fingering some chords. Also the mellow sound of the classical guitar may not match the expectations of the student who wanted to play popular music. This may affect the student's motivation to play.

Classical guitars have different sizes and there are for different ages-
Ages 4-6          up to 3’ 9’’ tall    ¼ size (30”) guitar
Ages 3-8          3’10”- 4’5” tall     ½ size (34”) guitar
Ages 9-11         4’6”-4’11” tall      ¾ size (36”) guitar
Ages 12 and older 5’ and taller        7/8 or full size guitar

Guitar -- The Big Family of Music Instrument

   Dear readers-
   Let's talk about guitars today!XD

Guitar is a popular musical instrument that makes sound by the playing of its six strings(typically) with the sound being projected either acoustically or through electrical amplification (for acoustic guitars or electric guitars, respectively). It is typically played by strumming or plucking the strings with the right hand while fretting the strings with the left hand.

Classical guitar(Left )
Steel Stringed Acoustic(Right)
Guitar is an amazing instrument, no one really knows when and where the earliest guitar originated. Guitar family is a big part of all musical instruments. There are three main types of guitar-- Acoustic Guitar(with steel string), Classical Guitar(with nylon string), and Electronic Guitars. The difference between those two guitars is the width of the neck. The neck of classical guitar is wider than other members of the guitar family.

The type of guitar that you choose to play will depend on the style of music that you wish to play on your instrument. It does not really matter if you decide to learn to play the electric or acoustic, it is really up to you, but one consideration to make is if you wish to play both styles of guitar later, it is probably best to start with a steel stringed acoustic guitar. Play this type of guitar will strengthen your fingers as you press down on the strings to make chords. Pressing down strings on this guitar is easier and requires less finger strength. So if you wish to play those two types of guitar, you should start with the steel stringed acoustic.

The other members of guitar family are Electronic Guitars(including Electric Guitars, Electric-Acoustic Guitars and Semi Acoustic Guitars), Twelve-String Guitars, Seven-String Guitars, Bass Guitars, Arch-top Guitars, Steel Guitars(including Lap Steel Guitars and Pedal Steel Guitars), Resonator Guitars, and Double-Neck Guitars.

Here are some interesting facts about guitars--

-The first Electric Guitar was created in 1931, by both George Beauchamp and Adolph Rikenbekerom.
-The first wooden guitar was created by both Leo Fender and Les Paul. They were crafted independently of each other, in 1950.
-The first Bass Guitar was also developed firm Leo Fender in the 50's of last century.
-The smallest functioning electric guitar is called Percision Guitar, whose length is 67.5 cm.
-The most influential guitarist of all time, according to Rolling Stone magazine, is Jimi Hendrix.
-The range of normal guitar is about four octaves.
-The most expensive guitar in the world is the Fender Stratocaster, signed with 19 famous guitarists and sold at a charity auction for $ 2.8 million.
